Early morning Sripad B.N.Acharyya Maharaj along with a few western devotees got into the Math's preaching car and drove to Bamunpara. They arrived at the extensive grounds of our Sri Chaitanya Sridhar Govinda Seva Ashram.

From today's diary...

We finally arrived in Bamunpara after an hour and a half journey from the main Math in Koladwip, Nabadwip. We crossed over a very bumpy road just prior to reaching the Sri Chaitanya Sridhar Govinda Seva Ashram on the edge of the village. Upon entering the compound we all immediately felt very peaceful and very much at home. Our first impulse was to relax on the grass under the shade and appreciated the calm, spiritual atmosphere. Sripad Acharyya Maharaj soon came and gave us a little tour of the compound and showed us the kunda next to the guesthouse. He then began marking the land where a Temple will be built for the glory of Srila Gurudeva.

A short distance away, Sripad Acharyya Maharaj took us to see the Deities that were worshiped by Srila Gurudeva in his childhood. These Deities, Sri Sri Radha Gopinatha, are 500 years old and are being worshiped to this day. We were also blessed with a quick glimpse of the house where Srila Gurudeva made his holy appearance. We also saw the previous house of Srila Gurudeva's brother which is now mainly vacant. The mud and straw houses in Bamunpara add to the natural beauty and simplicity of the village.

We returned to the compound of the Seva Ashram and took rest in the guesthouse. Later we honoured very nice prasadam from Sri Sri Radha Gopinatha which was prepared by Jagadananda Prabhu.

The devotees were all very happy in our visit in Bamunpara. For most us, it was our first visit.

All glories to Sripat Bamunpara! All glories to Srila Gurudeva, Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj!
